ahmm... welcome to golcha perfect discography propaganda hour ♡

prefacing this with the fact that i literally think all of their albums are listenable all the way through. even the intros are perfect (i'm woollimpop fan). but i will do my best to abridge<3

1. 1st EP [gol-cha!]

• i don't know if their debut (damdadi) is actually that good or if its just my nostalgia but it is INSTANT serotonin. 
• essential listening: SEA (perfect song) / damdadi (to me) 

2. 2nd EP [miracle] 

• NEORAGO NEORAGO BINMAL ANIYA. i'm obsessed with this title (it's you) but it was a bit controversial in fandom for some reason (boygroup fans have questionable taste?) but anyway you can form your own opinion. maybe i'm the crazy one
• essential listening: lady (joochan's "ooh ooh" adlibs at the end) / it’s you (perfect song) / crush (ON CRUSH. ON CRUSH. idk it's giving me young by cix vibes on this relisten rn) / i'm falling (the opening notes remind me of a 1d song & there isn't really a chorus but well. i like it) 

3. 1st single [goldennness]

• this was their "for the fans" single album & the song (let me) they were promoting when i saw them at kcon so i have a bit of an EMOTIONAL attachment but honestly it's really fun...
• essential listening: let me (if you liked damdadi. if not then probably not essential) / IF (QUINTESSENTIAL woollimpop)

4. 3rd EP [WISH]

• NOW THIS ONE!!!! genie is probably my favorite of their title tracks and the first three songs in a row make me feel like i'm on another planet. the last three songs are uhm. they're fine it's just hard to follow up the first three :(
  
• essential listening: genie (perfect song) / eyes on you (this was definitely a pilfered infinite track and ITS GENUINELY SO FACKING GOOD... very possibly my favorite of all their b-sides) / i see u (head_massage_emoji)
  

5. 1st album [re-boot]

• i WANNABE WANNABE YOU. this was their first sort of departure from their classic sound and while it was kind of sad it also definitely WORKS. half of the songs on here are unit/solo songs btw
• essential listening: wannabe (if you haven't already) / lately (okay maybe this is my favorite b-side. it's basically the sister ifnt track to eyes_on_you.mp3) / compass (to me this is kind of LADY.mp3's sister but kind of better? to me.) / don't run away (OOHH OHH OHHHH)
• separate section for solo/unit songs that aren't essential listening but i think are worth listening to anyway: no matter what (rapline [jangjun & tag] ft. joochan duo song that's actually good) / a song for me (joochan solo which might be a snooze if you're not a joochanfan but ummm i like it T__T) 

6. 1st repackage [without you]

• probably could have put this with the above in one section but anyway i think the title AND the one cute song they added are both perfect.
• essential listening: without you (again if you haven't already) / i love u crazy! (this reminds me of 1d too. urimanui GOLDEN TIME!)

7. 4th EP [take a leap]

• this was their most....how do you say....BOYGROUP moment. but i still really like the title even tho it's heavily bassboosted for some reason. also the second half of this ep suffers from the same disease as WISH...
• essential listening: ONE (imo best experienced along with the stage) / OMG (wait a moment is this my favorite b-side... i honestly forgot about this one cuz i don't revisit this album as much but UHMMMM. its perfect) 

8. 2nd single [pump it up]

• probably my least favorite of their titles & thus the only one im not putting under essential listening. but "least favorite" for golcha is still "great" and if another group released it id be like yaaas
• essential listening: lean on me (perfect song)

9. 5th EP [yes.]

• recency bias cuz this just came out but i think EVERY song on here is good and its probably my kpop aoty so far. the title isn't quite CINEMA but the experience is just so well rounded
• essential listening: all of it burn it (you can watch the 6 minute mv if you want to experience an incomprehensible zombie plot but i'm just so obsessed with the chorus... sometimes i just appreciate groups who can SING) / cool cool (COOLHAGE ITS SO COOL COOL!) / round n round (this is like? lovelyz if they were a boygroup for a song. aka its perfect) / breathe (ab6ix "i wanna breathe" vs golcha "i wanna breathe" fight for best song ever. both of them win) 

wow this ended up being so long for no reason. TLDR I'LL PUT ALL THE SONGS IN A LIST. the ones that are BOLD are the ones that are most essential of the essential listening. aka what probably would have been my top 10 list if i had just done that instead of this whole thing....
