june media roundup (?!)
Jul. 2nd, 2021 05:27 pm
i'm working evenings this week so let me use these extra few hours of downtime to WRITE THIS POST. and maybe i will have consumed enough media to actually have things to write about <3 i can't believe this is the first time i've written one of these tbh
hmmmmmm actually i’m going to talk about all 16 books i’ve read this year first. LOL so feel free to skim my inane thoughts!
(my storygraph.)
january (614 pages)
on earth we’re briefly gorgeous - ocean vuong ✰✰✰✰
- i actually read this kind of off & on during the end of 2020 and early 2021 and i think the fact that i didn’t like… experience it all at once hindered my enjoyment slightly but ofc it’s very well known and obviously very good. really unique writing style that i enjoyed sitting in. teared up a couple times here and there. you know how it is
the untouchable - john banville ✰✰✰✰.5
- this shit was so good actually. i just looked up a review that said banville “tends to allow the shimmering intensity of his prose to overcome plot and character” which is so true but i’m also the kind of person who cares more about the writing than the plot in most cases so i didn’t really care! when your prose is like:
How cunningly the grieving heart seeks comfort for itself, conjuring up the softest of sorrows, the most sweetly piercing recollections, in which it is always summer, replete with birdsong and the impossible radiance of a transfigured past.
- then thats all that matters to me! but also a gay russian spy with a tragic ending?? come on.
i did so much starting & not finishing books in february it was really embarrassing. thankfully i forced myself to finish a couple in march!
march (960 pages)
the sun also rises - ernest hemingway ✰✰.5
- sorry to hemingway enjoyers but reading this was pretty rough sometimes. i’m glad i finished it but i simply don’t think the style is for me… enjoyed the depressed protagonist though. and it was short enough to force myself to finish which i generally don’t do with books
giovanni’s room - james baldwin ✰✰✰✰.5
- absolutely a classic for a reason. baldwin’s writing & storytelling seriously feels so modern despite its age. ie:
I was in a terrible confusion. Sometimes I thought, but this is your life. Stop fighting it. Stop fighting. Or I thought, but I am happy. And he loves me. I am safe. Sometimes, when he was not near me, I thought, I will never let him touch me again. Then, when he touched me, I thought, it doesn’t matter, it is only the body, it will soon be over. When it was over, I lay in the dark and listened to his breathing and dreamed of the touch of hands, of Giovanni’s hands, or anybody’s hands, hands which would have the power to crush me and make me whole again.
- like it’s so unbelievably real.
lolita - vladimir nobokov ✰✰✰
- another classic that i’d been meaning to read for a while--i read half of pale fire in college and enjoyed it but never finished due to my inability to read things at that point in my life so i really wanted to experience nabokov’s writing again… and well it’s definitely an EXPERIENCE. obviously the subject matter is what it is but i’m glad i read it!
the sea - john banville ✰✰✰✰
- another banville! i’m pretty sure this one is actually his most popular but i read the untouchable first because hanya yanagihara recommended it during an interview :’| and well i liked that one better but this one was still really good… i don’t think there’s any plot actually it’s just the narrator going through the grief of losing his wife. but i don’t think i can overexaggerate how much i love this author’s prose & how much it hits home:
To be concealed, protected, guarded, that is all I have ever truly wanted, to burrow down into a place of womby warmth and cower there, hidden from the sky’s indifferent gaze and the harsh air’s damagings. That is why the past is just such a retreat for me, I go there eagerly, rubbing my hands and shaking off the cold present and the colder future. And yet, what existence, really, does it have, the past?
april (795 pages)
de profundis - oscar wilde ✰✰✰✰
- the first nonfiction book i read this year! well its just 2 very long letters written by wilde while in prison and not really a BOOK but. as a deeply basic person who chose the picture of dorian gray as their favorite book for multiple years in a row i really enjoyed this… honestly my head during this whole thing was just like “gay people are so annoying” but it was still good. LOL
Often in old days I had told you that you were ruining my life. You had always laughed.
- i mean… you get it.
what belongs to you - garth greenwell ✰✰✰✰.5
- sometimes books that you find while googling “books like a little life” can be so personal!!!! the use of the c-word was a little bit excessive for my tastes but overlooking that i seriously think this author is soo good at portraying physicality but also emotions and like… idk just the shame of being alive i guess. there’s this moment / metaphor where the mc comes across & puts his hand on a malnourished horse in mladost:
I felt it give a sudden sigh, a quick unburdening of breath as it shifted its frame a little. It wasn’t tied up, I saw, it could have wandered off anytime it chose; but there was nowhere for it to go, of course, and the cart I supposed was heavy, and there was something however meager to be had there where it stood.
- which knocked me flat, a bit.
cleanness - garth greenwell ✰✰✰✰.5
- this one’s interesting cuz it has the same narrator as the previous book but it’s not a sequel, necessarily, it’s just a selection of short stories in the same world? but i honestly liked it even more than the original!!! i felt like the prose was a little bit more advanced and the short story format worked well. im going through my saved quotes on ibooks and like the emotional highs and lows in these stories are insane. sorry for being unable to give proper reviews and just letting quotes speak for themselves but:
There was no lowest place, I thought, I would strike ground only to feel it give way gaping beneath me, and I felt with a new fear how little sense of myself I have, how there was no end to what I could want or to the punishment I would seek. For some moments I wrestled with these thoughts, and then I stood and turned back to the boulevard, composing as best I could my human face.
- and then from a separate story:
I caught my breath at it, I felt a weird pressure and heat climb my throat. I felt like my heart would burst, those were the words for it, the hackneyed phrase, and I was grateful for them, they were a container for what I felt, proof of its commonness. I was grateful for that, too, the commonness of my feeling; I felt some stubborn strangeness in me ease, I felt like part of the human race.
- my human face / the human race…
tenth of december - george saunders ✰✰✰✰.5
- honestly kind of impressed that i managed to read 4 books every month for 3 months straight. yes 4 books is a lot to me. anyway i think i realized the beauty of the short story while reading cleanness & i saw this collection very highly recommended in some article i was reading so i was like let me give this a try!!! and i very much enjoyed it despite the writing style (especially in the first story so i was like...?) taking a while to get used to… and its very much like commentary on (consumer especially) capitalism & various other -isms and its honestly just really good. and FUNNY! though i know my sense of humor is questionable.
may (1153 pages)
civilwarland in bad decline - george saunders ✰✰✰✰
- after really loving tenth of december i decided to check out his first collection of stories (publ. 1996) and as u can see from the ranking i still liked it a lot but Not As Much… i think it’s always kind of hard when you read someone’s most recent work first and then have to work backwards because obviously they’re not going to be as polished 17 years earlier?!? i just felt like the themes were a little less nuanced but that’s to be expected. something i really liked was the extended author’s note at the end, especially this bit after an entire exposition about how difficult his early family life was:
Biking back into town after dark, past the cozy Colonial houses orange with firelight, I’d think: I have a home. I have people waiting for me, who love me. This is it. This is my life. These are the best years of my life.
in persuasion nation - george saunders ✰✰✰.5
- yes another .5 star decrease despite this one coming out after civilwarland… maybe i was just starting to get tired of short stories LOL i really really liked this one though
secondhand time: last of the soviets - svetlana alexievich ✰✰✰✰
- i found this in a best books of the decade list and while reading the summary i was like. wow i don’t know shit about shit. so i added a bunch of nonfiction books to my “to read” because i feel like there’s so much that i dont know… like i’m too old to not know these things. anyway now i have a weird amount of specific knowledge about the soviet union & its collapse and so when i watched chernobyl afterwords i was like omo GORBY? so that was fun.
dancer from the dance - andrew holleran ✰✰✰
- to me this was kind of just a book. KJSFKSD i read a review that said this could have been half the length and just as much would have happened and i totally agree… like at one point i genuinely thought my ebook was messed up cuz i swore i had read the exact same thing in an earlier chapter. but its like classic gay lit etc etc i read it cuz garth greenwell mentioned it as inspiration :’| but it wasn’t super my style. malone is an interesting character though
june (394 pages)
seep - chana porter ✰✰✰✰
- i read this book in ONE DAY at work which was crazy considering i’m not the swiftest of readers but it was like… SO fast paced? which was pretty enjoyable but i was also like ?????????? for parts of it. this is the summary:
Trina Goldberg-Oneka is a fifty-year-old trans woman whose life is irreversibly altered in the wake of a gentle—but nonetheless world-changing—invasion by an alien entity called The Seep. Through The Seep, everything is connected. Capitalism falls, hierarchies and barriers are broken down; if something can be imagined, it is possible. Trina and her wife, Deeba, live blissfully under The Seep’s utopian influence—until Deeba begins to imagine what it might be like to be reborn as a baby, which will give her the chance at an even better life. Using Seeptech to make this dream a reality, Deeba moves on to a new existence, leaving Trina devastated.
- like i read this summary and was like holy shit what. LMAO and thats basically what the experience of reading the book is like but it was a fun endeavor!!
nausea - jean-paul sartre ✰✰✰✰
- me when i frantically finish this book on june 30th so my june data point on storygraph doesn’t look AS wack :’| glad i finally read this though!!!! yes existentialism is cringe but it’s also real. for example i highlighted this passage:
I am only too glad to feel pity for other people’s troubles, that will make a change. I have no troubles, I have money like a capitalist, no boss, no wife, no children; I exist, that’s all. And that trouble is so vague, so metaphysical that I am ashamed of it.
- like well. yeah.
movies
do people watch movies like actually? kidding i actually enjoy them but feel like i never have the time / patience to watch any by myself… but we were able to watch 3 movies for movie night this month and well they definitely existed. also im checking letterboxd and somehow i rated all 3 of them 3.5 stars so that’s that.
jaws (dir. steven spielberg)
- i don’t know how i’d never seen this before and i think andre actually put it on our list a whileeeee ago but we finally watched it and it was FUN!! and i don’t know why we always end up opening ao3 after but lets just say i found exactly what i was expecting. also that fake shark was something
saw (dir. james wan)
- um speaking of ao3. KHDSFCJDSHHS we watched this cuz me and conner were talking about that stupid tweet about the person trying to figure out the plot of saw from the ao3 tag and it was like “i have reason to believe there were two men in a bathroom.” and well they were right. anyway i actually thought it was pretty hilariously enjoyable but further saw movies have been vetoed so i will not be watching the others 💔
the host (dir. bong joon-ho)
- [spoilers] JUL QVQ ULHAFRB QVR????? got me fucked up like actually. despite this i thought it was a good movie and i was SHOCKED how quickly it got into the action. i think conner was like “i hope they actually show us the monster” maybe 5-10 minutes in and then not even a minute later it straight up jumps out of the water and starts killing mfs… good!
tv
i say i dont watch movies but like i literally don’t watch tv… but me and henry usually have our little endeavors and right now we’re watching:
them (2021-)
- i looked up the rotten tomatoes page and this was described as “harrowingly evil” and yeah it really is. like obviously the genre is horror but. the series description btw:
The 1950s-set first season centers on a Black family who moves from North Carolina to an all-white Los Angeles neighborhood during the period known as The Great Migration. The family's idyllic home becomes ground zero where malevolent forces, next-door and otherworldly, threaten to taunt, ravage and destroy them.
- and idk i’m obviously not the person to have a strong opinion but sometimes the commentary is really well done but sometimes its like…? another reviewer described the characters as “pawns in a stacked scenario - not characters, but two-dimensional bullies and victims” which is unfortunately accurate sometimes…
succession (2018-)
- YEAH I’M STILL NOT DONE WITH THIS SHOW. i can only watch it at my friend’s house so we’re like halfway through s2 and honestly its just SO fun… i was really obsessed with house of cards back in the day because i love well-shot evil mc power dynamix politics/capitalist/etc bullshit shows & this is that but it also doesn’t take itself seriously at allll so it’s perfect. to me! and yeah i ended up reading some horribly bleak greg/tom fic. sue me.
music
(opens up itunes) okay what’s all this then. no i don’t use lastfm because i’m mooching off of my friend’s apple music account and trust me the scrobbles are not going to be accurate. 1 because i don’t listen to nicki minaj etc etc 2 because i purposefully don’t add a lot of music so as to not clog his library with my folk music or whatever & lastfm only counts music in your library fsr… but apple music does keep track of your most played songs in a playlist and the top one is still cinema btw<3 if anyone was wondering yes it’s still soty to me. edit i’m not gonna add the “omega eggs” or “just bitch” albums because well they’re both bad but i still support sebin / doyum respectively. i think we should all listen to bigdickcock though
okay ummm why am i unable to remember when things were released. this is probably in opposite release order because i’m just scrolling down the recently added:
DRIPPIN - 1st Single Album [Free Pass]
- yes im dreamin any questions?
- free pass = stay > wish
NCT DREAM Hello Future - The 1st Album Repackage
- i think these are just songs. but
- life is still going on > hello future > bungee
ACE SIREN:DAWN - EP
- i dont care about ace other than jun btw. but this album is ACTUALLY GOOD!!!
- chasing love [perfect song] > story > the intro track = higher > atlantis [yes this is the song kino wrote yes its the worst song. i dont know how that happened either]
SEVENTEEN 8th Mini Album ‘Your Choice’ - EP
- i kind of wished i still cared about seventeen as people but well their music still slaps severely<3 i think this ranking is probably somewhat contentious but:
- heaven’s cloud > wave > anyone = ready to love > the ballad = GAM3 BO1 [no i dont actually like this song but theres something kind of personal about game game game game game game game game game]
UP10TION - CONNECTION
- (me whenever i listen to up10tion music) oh my god everyone shut up sunyoul is the only person ever. (me any other time) [white noise]
- these songs are really good though:
- summer drive [perfect song] > parade > spin off = liar > ??? the rest
HA SUNG WOON - Sneakers
- no one asked sungwoon to drop the perfect summer song but he did and now we ALL have to live with it.
- sneakers [PERFECT SONG???] > on & on
TWICE Taste of Love - EP
- why is this title track so bad but the side tracks are perfect…? no one knows
- baby blue love > conversation = scandal > sos > first time >>> alcohol-free
EXO DON’T FIGHT THE FEELING - Special Album - EP
- any exol here? dont answer that. i actually liked this title track though
- dont fight the feeling > i dont remember any of the side tracks. actually i liked runaway too
other kpop highlights that weren’t released in june:
- became obsessed with WEI’s first album ??!!??! specifically doremifa / timeless / hug you which i think are 3 perfect songs!!!!!! weification was also very successful and i very much enjoyed oui go up<3 im pretty sure i watched that this month at least ummmmm. yeah. not going to go in detail about my bias ranking again though
- the random SNUPER renaissance i experienced at like 2am because drippin’s sailor teasers reminded me of soty 2016. im serious i literally need cravity to plagiarize these bitches or else im going to intervene.
- this isnt kpop but ANOTHER DAY & RUNWAY from produce japan s2 are both perfect too. even though the show itself was unbelievably harrowing
but i actually listen to more western music at this point in my life despite [gestures vaguely] everything i just said. the thing is that i get tired of music quickly and have an inability to loop songs so i’m always cycling through new stuff--i listen to at least one song off pretty much every release in the indie & alternative categories on itunes on new music fridays!!! and there are albums i enjoy that i only listen to once or twice before forgetting about them… yeah i don’t know but it works for me!
things that i remember enjoying:
hayden everett - kennecott EP
- if there’s one thing i’m gonna do it’s thoroughly enjoy generic indie folk music. i like this entire ep but resolve is my favorite track!
lightning bug - a color of the sky EP
- if there’s one thing i’m gonna do it’s--[gunshot] you get it. i feel like this album could be so boring to someone who doesn’t enjoy this genre but i think it’s so good and the lyricism is simple but really affecting--for example from september song pt. ii:
The sunset brings me to fruition
I am raw, I am new in the transition
The colors burn stronger, and the feelings burn true
And even the flowers smell more like you
- like!! i think my favorite song is probably “i lie awake” though ^__^
woom - into the rest EP
- genuinely obsessed with this ep???! half of the songs are covers slash compilations but theyre so different from the originals like the siegfried / self control / white ferrari remix is INSANE. and they’re all women from different bands (or just solo artists) so this is basically their boygenius moment but i honestly prefer this sound to their moreee idk guitar-forward sound? bite the hand is still a perfect song though. obviously
wolf alice - blue weekend
- this album definitely has its highs & lows but the rush i experienced when i heard THE BEACH for the first time was unreal. i basically have the exact same 3 favorite tracks as kaia: the beach, lipstick on the glass, and how can i make it OK? <3
japanese breakfast - jubilee
- to me this album is something you just put on and experience all at once & i honestly have trouble telling some songs apart sometimes (not a bad thing) but my favorites are definitely be sweet & slide tackle--the horns in the second half of that song are bonkers crazy!!
how to dress well - the anteroom
- this is more of a may discovery but i very much experienced this album in june too. i mean its a 2018 album regardless but its sooooo good. i almost tweeted it with the caption “albums for the mentally unwell” which i thought was too much but its still in my drafts somewhere KJSHFDS dont let the song titles scare you away either. tracks 4 / 5 / 8 / 11 / 13 are probably my favorites--i highly recommend it but it’s also an industrial electronic album so kind of a specific taste.
perturbator - the uncanny valley
- if i HAD a lastfm this (+ 2 of their other albums) would definitely be up there cuz i listen to these albums while playing nocturne LOL. its darksynth which is a genre i enjoy but perhaps in limited quantities. aka while gaming <3 but like listen to disco inferno and tell me that shit doesnt slap!!!!
jesus i literally have short term memory loss so i cant remember any other albums specific to june… a couple more songs that were personal to me this month though:
- #1 dads - return to
- zella day - holocene (ft. weyes blood)
- birdy - loneliness
- liz phair - soberish
- overcoats - wait for me darling
- ex olympic - tennis nightmare
- lucy dacus - thumbs (i need to re-experience her new album properly but this song is sooo perfect)
what else do people talk about during these posts.
kpop fandom stuff
okay i promise if i do this again next month i will be more organized because i can barely remember anything i did in june <3 but as i mentioned before i enjoyed finally becoming a RUI thanks to kaia’s month old propaganda… and then me and henry have also been watching the omega eggs show which is surprisingly fun at points but i also started crying when it showed them picking their horrific title track SO. but we also skimmed their debut showcase and it showed them crying while singing their only good song and as resident nugu_fan i felt things T__T sebin i’m going to get you out of there.
and of course i’m watching VITYPARK religiously every week! the rush of waking up on monday and opening my list to see god knows what went down is nigh unmatched. also i’m selmsong shipper now but lets not get into it. verivery also have a SUPER FUN little show that i always look forward to!!! the editor is honestly on something and i recommend it for the experience even if you dont know any of these men <3 and i’m also enjoying indoctrinating kaia into JAMDOM!!!! something seriously personal about being syoya/takumi 2pick i’ll tell you that much.
in terms of writing i finally wrote my little minizsong fic as anyone reading this would know… and well i think i’ve already talked about it enough but i had a lot of fun doing the annotations!! i’ve seen a few authors do it in my fic reading lifetime and i always think its soooo fun to read so i thought why not… and i also think i’ve found peace with writing for myself / a few choice people because when i was posting my sookais i was checking stats way too often and now i literally don’t care<3 so that’s ideal for me! though the act of writing is still like pulling teeth for me & especially for this fic it took me hours to scrape out ~500 words… but we did it somehow.
and finally in terms of like My Life i live a deeply boring existence<3 but i’m usually pretty content with it LOL i like my little memory care receptionist job and i like (most of) my residents and coworkers and friends. sometimes i wake up like “what the hell am i doing i need to be doing more with my life what the FACK!!!” and i lose it for a little while but it’s mostly fine so don’t worry about it. <3 i think it’s respectable to not have any hard skills actually.
anyway thx for reading if you got this far!! [reflecting] sorry for the insane wall of text

Date: 2021-07-03 02:37 am (UTC)i literally do not read real literature so the only one i've read here is on earth we're briefly gorgeous HFLDSHKLH but i love seeing all your book thoughts!!! "anyway now i have a weird amount of specific knowledge about the soviet union & its collapse and so when i watched chernobyl afterwords i was like omo GORBY? so that was fun." WHY IS THIS MAKING ME CRYYY ur iconic for this though. i only know things about the soviet union because i took a russian culture course and had to read a lot of literature i already don't remember and then wrote a paper about post-punk soviet rock band KINO. but also i still don't really know. also damn that sartre man was kind of making points huh....
btw ur succession consumption. "yeah i ended up reading some horribly bleak greg/tom fic. sue me." umm soobun problematic fav :/ i would never.
ANYWAY MOVING ONTO MUSIC! YOUR TASTES ARE SO ICONIC AND PERFECT AND REAL!!! i also really love stay off free pass and even though i ACTUALLY unironically enjoy alc free i agree with ur perfect top 3 <3 is ur hello future ranking just for the 3 new songs btw because i think lisgo is decent but i REALLY can't get into hello future mostly because i think no one in nct should ever be allowed to rap. sorry i'm pretty sure i already told you this HDFSLH. AND YUP SNEAKERS PERFECT SONG!!! i could not care less about that hasungwoon hag and yet... also YOU=HEAVEN PERFECT SONG SNUPER #UNDERAPPRECIATED_FAVS ETC. ETC. ETC. if crabity don't release a palatable summery song i'll literally walk over to the starship building and- you can fill in the rest of this sentence.
sorry i sound insane but let's keep going. the rest of your music section!!! u know how i feel already but thanks for some of these indie folk recs and i love to see us have the exact same opinions on blue weekend / jubilee!!! i agree that jubilee has something of an indistinguishable quality but it does make for a very atmospheric and enjoyable listen (imo). anyway i truly do not know anyone doing it like u.
ALSO OK SO TRUE @ THE OMEGA EGGS JUST BITCH MUSICAL HATEURISMS BUT LIKE... any younger fans here??? 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
"not going to go in detail about my bias ranking again though" 😢😢😢 i can't even say anything anymore because i'm over yohan now. #yohan_out #syoya_in speaking of syoya THANKS FOR THE JAMDOM INDOCTRINATION! BEING A FRUIT-LOVING JAM CAN BE SO PERSONAL!!! and it's ok to ship selmsong [replaying every single insane vitypark moment i've witnessed from them in the past month in my head] yeah i think we're all there now. :smiling_face_with_tear:
ok i don't make any sense but juuust i enjoyed this so much and i'm simple dw user SOOBUN fan <3 i already left you the most crazyinsane ramble on your minizsong fic but I'LL SAY IT AGAIN THAT FIC LEGITIMATELY CHANGED MY LIFE!!! and your writing is so perfect and significant to ME! i know exactly how it feels to just Be Existing but you inspire me constantly and i hope july is another fun media month for u n___n

Date: 2021-07-05 03:32 am (UTC)anyways lets get into this…
- your books section is genuinely so impressive to me and similar to kaia i do Not read real “literature” so it’s rlly cool seeing all of this stuff… i feel like i remember u mentioning the sun also rises/giovanni’s room but *%(@*%. also there’s so much GARTH GREENWELL… i’ve only read one thing by him (random short story that was in the new yorker) is his novel-length stuff also really intense and tender and weird. like i don’t remember it that well but i Swear there was a bit of foot fetish in that short story… um. anyways maybe i should check these men out
- I ALSO DON’T WATCH MOVIES <333 so glad you’re with me here. also i have the same ao3-opening-post-media-consumption habit like sometimes random yuletide fic from whatever year for whatever thing i just finished TRULY HITS… i also don’t watch tv. like i’m so glad u Get me here
- is it a good or bad thing that u can’t see your scrobbles… (#*$&*@&% ALSO YOUR TOP SONG BEING CINEMA THAT’S TASTE <333
- omg this music section… just added a bunch of shit to my to-listen-to list (why does siren:dawn remind me of enha border: carnival branding. whatever). just to clarify i added all of the kpop stuff to my to listen to list because ummm. idk abt this western stuff i mean You’ve Seen My Roundups. okay also I KIND OF LOVE THAT YOU DON’T LOOP THRU SONGS/get tired of shit easily/just constantly listen to new things… that is basically the opposite of how i am and i’m trying to discover new music but also i’m just bad at seeking it out 90% of the time. ahmm
- society when cravity has bright concepts *(@*( LITERALLY!!!!!
- btw i’m losing it every time u call them OMEGA EGGS???
- ++ glad you’re having fun with your luvity + JAM??? (apparently i’m a FRUIT?) + other random grps lifestyle… and i’m even more happy that you’ve achieved Inner Peace as a writer re: audience/stats bcs ik that can rlly be harrowing… hopefully (srry i am saying this a bit selfishly) this makes you feel more free in writing things?! I JUST LIKE TORIFIC…
- i think it’s respectable to not have any hard skills actually. you’re perfect for this
IDKKK i just really enjoyed this and i like this update on what you’re up to :’’))) i hope u keep writing this sort of round-up in the future <3

DSKHFDDSHF yup my gorbachev knowledge is off the charts you wouldnt get it etc etc but POST-PUNK SOVIET ROCK BAND KINO? i just looked them up and wow "considered to be one of, if not the greatest rock band in the history of Russian music" just like kino is one of, if not the greatest kpop fruityboy with hidden depths in the history of kpop. now thats parallels
not commenting on the succession fic. and yeah i just ranked the 3 new songs cuz didnt hawt sawce come out in late may?? but its true... society if we outlawed nct rappers > + THX FOR INDULGING ME IN THE SNUPER NOSTALGIA!!! and for agreeing that sneakers perfect song<333 and of course i will continue to send u my little indie folk recs dont u worry :3
